The new luminaire – developed by Scottish start-up pureLiFi and French light fitting manufacturer Lucibel – places all the necessary Li-Fi components in a black ring that lies flat against the ceiling and is designed to circle an LED light. It is able to support between eight to 16 users at once, and deliver data at rates of 45 megabits per second.

Opinion
The use of such lighting will enable all building owners to move towards a more efficient and effective management of building and passerby.
With the data that is flowing in and out of the lighting, i’m sure we can look beyond just management of a building, but also the analytics of data to provide the right information to the right client through active marketing.
